Congratulations to my daughter Kristy...officially graduated from Medical School
Dr. Kristy Bowen. PHD,DO, Doctor of Osteopathy!!!! It was an exciting day to say the least.
II and I are cozy tucked into Allen Harbor on the west side of Narragansett Bay..
Seatow is awesome...I am making headway gaining the skills needed to go 40kts to your rescue...tight maneuvering... Luckily the owner of the franchise is patient and a great teacher.  All going well.
Check out FACEBOOK to keep in touch daily.  It is just so much easier to update...Most of my daily stories and lots of new photos are ending up there... like the 'grounding' and Seatow Rescue to II and I upon our arrival to Allen Harbor... Life never gets boring... Remember when I took that engine out of the boat and I was commenting on how I would have to get some real 'sailing skills' to manage without the inboard...well. truth is truth. I haven't got them all mastered yet...that is for darn sure.  another learning curve...but II is pretty tough. She is surviving..
So catch me on Facebook for daily stories and to keep up with my 'friends'..
Going to jam in at Stellas tomorrow night with Derek and Roy...conditional to work...no late tows.
Stop by Bonnie Blues new shop in Bristol.. Out of the Blue. All dolphins and healing... the sweetest lady in the world.
My family are the sweetest as well...I have had a great few days in reunions..fun days with Ptarmi and the grandkids,,Cooper and it was amazing doing the delivery with Keel...A special month of catching uup with my kids... Bob is recovering from knee 'surgery'...ouch... but doing well. He will be in RI a week monday!!!!  I have missed him terrible... When you read facebook, you will note how desperately I have missed real dinners and a dinner companion. Can't wait for roast turkey!!! but now to work!!!  I need to work.
big hugs to all.

This trip to Haiti and the Dominican Republic has become one of the most life changing experiences of my life.  It is as if life has taken me up on my offer to 'care' and exposed me to so much I had never had a capacity to see or know.  But now is the time to open my eyes.  see the Present Update for full story

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS

CAPTAIN DONNA LANGE?

The Musician, the Sailor and her 28-foot sailboat
INSPIRED INSANITY
Fastest American Woman to Solo Sail the World
via Cape Hope and Cape Horn
First leg was Non-Stop from Rhode Island to New Zealand in 168 days
.

By Neil Vangundy after 4 years of dedication to my Journey... :

Donna joins the ranks of a very few elite sailors of the world as the fastest American woman to single handedly circumnavigate the globe and in a 28-foot sailboat named after her state of mind, Inspired Insanity. With only 2 stops in the southern hemisphere, Opua, New Zealand and Puerto Williams, Chile (around the corner from Cape Horn), and a total of 290 days at sea, she completed her circumnavigation on May 16th 2007.

Donna’s story started with a tragic life-changing event in 1998. It so dismembered her existence that she left behind all that she knew. The sea was to be her mentor for a new life. A place where she could search for answers. Repeatedly being tested against extreme odds, her inner strength and physical stamina has overcome countless ocean battles in horrific conditions. Donna was tested by weather once again in April of 2007 in an epic Nor'Easter that pummeled the east coast requiring every ounce of her mental and physical endurance. She says her mind became clear and free after her boat nearly rolled over in the sea. It marked a new beginning. With that turning point, we have a new Donna Lange. With her comes a huge purpose and a huge responsibility.

Thank you Donna Lange for letting us watch you grow and sharing your inspiration and your music. You’ve seen things out there that we can barely imagine or comprehend. It’s your time to share what you’ve learned about life and death and the world we live in.

Donna is available for speaking and music programs , OceansWatch presentations, as well as Captaining. She has Cd's for sale. MP3's of Donna's music farther below on home page. Please go to pages in site.

Rushing Waters- 1995
Love at first sight!...
Work is also getting in the way of my writing.
When I'm on the road I have alot of time to write and think..all that good shite.
This is like the calm after the storm, but I realy liked the storm more than the calm.....
Even in the noise of the storm I can find peace,
But in the calm I can hear every sound..
